It may not usually be thought of as the most fun game in the universe of wagering, but keno has massive amounts of devoted players. And why not? It’s a consistently entertaining lotto-ish game that’s uncomplicated to learn, abundantly available in tons of assorted formats, and one that may pay out mega-dollars for those who master its many subtle nuances. But let’s deal with the basics here.

And it doesn’t take a keno superstar to ascertain how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all of your chosen numbers with a standard#2 pencil like you used when you were in school.

After you have marked your numbers, carry your card back to the clerk at the keno booth. The person will record your numbers and then give you a receipt. Make sure no to drop this (potentially) valuable bit of paper! Even if the clerk remembers your face and wants help out, without a winning receipt on you, you will be given exactly $.00 for your efforts.

OK, so there you have strategy #1: always be sure to keep your keno receipt. Let’s advance to something a bit more complicated, shall we?

After you’ve selected your numbers, get into a comfortable keno booth and watch the action happen on the screen. That’s where the winning numbers are displayed in lights. If you’ve got winning numbers, mark your card accordingly. Be sure not to take your time, or sit there praising yourself for an obnoxious length of time. You want to get back to the keno booth to redeem your winnings, and then a new keno game will almost certainly start within not too many minutes.

Strategy #2: always make it back to the keno stand on time!

Since you can’t trust yourself to make that five-minute margin every time, you always retain the option of purchasing a "multi-race" ticket. These include the same set of your picked numbers on anywhere from 2 to twenty slips. When the max number of games (the same as the number of tickets) is played, you can then get off your numb bum and go get your winnings.

Yet an additional opportunity is known as a "stray and play" keno card, which generally lets you make number picks for 30 keno rounds or more. Gosh, you can take vacation to Greece and not have to worry about getting back in time to redeem your numbers. Most "stray and play" tickets are good for up to a whole year after you purchase it!
