It may not often be looked at as the most lucrative game in the realm of betting, but keno has tons of zealous players. And so it should! It’s a constantly thrilling lottery-like game that’s a snap to play, abundantly available in loads of alternate formats, and one that may pay out millions for players who learn its heaps of subtle rules. But let’s begin with the basic rules here.

When describing keno to newcomers, some wagering experts compare it to lotto. This is at least partially apt, in that both games are generally numerical. And it doesn’t take a nuclear physicist to determine how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark each of your selected numbers with a normalpen like you used when you were in school.

Once you have checked your numbers, carry your game card back to the keno pit manager at the keno booth. The person will record those numbers and then hand you a receipt. Don’t drop this (potentially) lucrative piece of paper! Even if the keno pit manager remembers your loud shirt and wants help out, without a winning receipt in hand, you will win exactly $.00 for your efforts.

Now there you have strategy number one: always be sure to keep your keno ticket. Let’s advance to something a tiny bit more complex, shall we?

After you’ve marked your numbers, get into a comfy keno booth and see the action unfold on the big keno monitor. That is where the winning numbers show up in lights. If you checked winners, mark your card accordingly. Sake care not to drag your feet, or sit there congratulating yourself for an obnoxious length of time. You must get up to the keno stand to collect your winnings, and then a new round of keno will probably get going within 5 minutes.

Strategy number 2: always get back to the keno stand on time!

Since you can’t trust yourself to beat that 5 minute margin each time, you always retain the option of purchasing a "multi-race" card. These include the self same set of your desired numbers on anywhere from 2 to 20 cards. When the maximum number of keno games (fitting the amount of tickets) is played, you may then get off your numb butt and go collect your winnings.

Still another opportunity is recognized as a "stray and play" keno ticket, which generally allows you make number choices for 30 keno rounds or more. Heck, you can take all the time in the world and not have to fret about getting back in time to retrieve your winnings. Most "stray and play" cards are good for up to a whole year after it’s purchased!

So now you are aware of a number of needed schemes for winning keno. If you are a discerning player, they might appear to be incredibly obvious.
