• Keno’s History

    [ English ]

Keno was introduced in two hundred BC by the Chinese army commander, Cheung Leung who utilized keno as a finance resource for his declining army. The metropolis of Cheung was waging a battle, and after a bit of time seemed to be facing national shortage of food with the dramatic decrease in supplies. Cheung Leung needed to develop a fast response for the financial adversity and to create money for his military. He therefore created the game we now know as keno and it was a great success.

Keno used to be well-known as the White Pigeon Game, because the winning numbers were sent out by pigeons from bigger municipalities to the lesser towns. The lotto ‘Keno’ was brought to America in the 1800s by Chinese immigrants who came to the US for jobs. In those times, Keno was played with one hundred and twenty numbers.

Today, Keno is regularly wagered on with eighty numbers in a majority of American land based casinos as well as online casinos. Keno is commonly enjoyed today as a consequence of the relaxed nature of gambling the game and the simple fact that there are little skills required to enjoy Keno. Despite the reality that the odds of coming away with a win are appalling, there is always the hope that you will win quite big with very little gambling investment.

Keno is enjoyed with 80 numbers with twenty numbers drawn each round. Players of Keno can select from 2 to 10 numbers and wager on them, whatever amount they want to. The payout of Keno is according to the wagers made and the roll out of matching numbers.

Keno has grown in popularity in the United States since the close of the 19th century when the Chinese letters were changed with , American numbers. Lotteries weren’t covered under the laws of wagering in the state of Nevada in Nineteen Thirty One. The casinos renamed the ‘Chinese lotto’ to ‘horse race keno’ utilizing the concept that the numbers are horses and you are looking for your horses to place. When the Nevada government passed a law that taxed off track betting, Nevada casinos quickly changed the name to ‘Keno’.
